What do you do when God tells you to obey—but what He’s asking doesn’t make sense?
In this message from Luke 5, Pastor Ryan Visconti teaches what it means to have faith to obey. Peter had every logical reason to stop after fishing all night and catching nothing, but when Jesus told him to cast his nets again, Peter responded, “If you say so.” His obedience became a demonstration of faith. Pastor Ryan explains that faith begins with what God says, grows as we trust Him, and becomes visible through action. We may not always understand what God is doing or know the outcome in advance, but we can trust His character, His Word, and His direction.
This message also shows why obedience is faith in action. We are not saved by works, but genuine faith produces a desire to obey God. Like Abraham, Noah, Moses, Peter, and others throughout Scripture, faith often requires us to move before we have all the details. And while God’s blessings are not always immediate, obedience positions us to experience what He has for us. Ultimately, the greatest step of faith is trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior and allowing Him to lead every area of our lives.
