If we look at 1 Corinthians 14, should we read this scripture literally? Is it a universal command to all churches for all times, or was Paul addressing a specific situation with the Corinthians church that leaves an enduring principle for us? As we look at the entire bible and this specific scripture, we can see that it communicates an enduring principle to apply, not a universal command to enforce. In fact, we see that God is not opposed to women leading His people or teaching men, but instead, He celebrates and memorializes it in His eternal word.
