Family Meeting

1. Family Mission

As a Generation Church family member, you have a mission! Matthew 28:18 says, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." A church should be full of ‘found people’ who are helping lost people find and follow Jesus. We invite the Holy Spirit to to help us sacrifice and do whatever it takes to reach those far from Jesus.

2. Family Lifestyle

As followers of Jesus, we are called to a higher standard of living so that we can best represent Him. Philippians 1:27 says, “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” While we represent Jesus through our lifestyle, we still need to be patient in our shortcomings! God will be faithful in completing the work He began in us. We can glorify Jesus both by how we live and by how we respond when we fall short.

3. Family Finances

Proverbs 3:9 tells us to "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits..." The principle of giving the first ten percent of one's income is prevalent throughout scripture, and Jesus only raised the standards of giving with His life and through His teachings. Some believers today allow fear, greed, and rebellion to keep them from giving, but those who are obedient in honoring God with their tithe become a part of reaching lost people and will experience God's blessing in their life.

4. Family Works Together

To be a full functioning church family, we all need to work together and serve together. We are ALL called to serve because Jesus first served us. John 13:15 says, "I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done for you." Family works together.

5. Family Shows Up

There are many different types of membership. The truest picture of scriptural, church membership is a family. As family we are responsible to each other and show up for one another on a regular basis. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another.”
