EQUIP CLASSES
FOR EVERY GOOD WORK
Equipped for Every Good Work
God doesn’t just want informed believers. He wants equipped ones, prepared for every good work. It’s part of our mission at Generation Church: Honor God. Equip Believers. Reach the lost.
Going deeper into Scripture isn’t simply about gaining more knowledge; it’s about knowing God more intimately, recognizing His voice more clearly, and becoming equipped to walk confidently in the calling He has placed on your life.
“God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” — 2 Timothy 3:17 (NLT)
What Are Equip Classes?
Equip Classes are 8 to 10 week courses offered twice a year, in August and January. Each session is 75-90 minutes of focused, lecture style teaching with a gifted teacher and a clear syllabus. These are not small groups or casual conversations. Equip Classes are a classroom experience built for serious growth.
Equip Classes have no formal prerequisites. Some classes include a suggested class to take beforehand to help you get the most out of your learning experience.
*Please note: If you are choosing between a Life Group and an Equip Class, choose your Life Group. Equip Classes are an addition to community, not a substitute.
AVAILABLE CLASSES
STARTING IN AUGUST 2026
LEVEL 1: FUNDAMENTALS
For those beginning, returning, or ready to lay the grounding for their faith.
FOUNDATIONS: CHRISTIAN LIVING
What does it actually mean to live as a Christian? This class walks through the essential beliefs and practices of the faith, covering Salvation, Prayer, the Bible, the Holy Spirit, Church and Community, Serving, and the Sacraments. Whether you are brand new to faith or have been a believer for years, this is the recommended starting point for all Equip Classes students.
FINDING YOUR PURPOSE
Many Christians spend years wondering what God’s will is for their lives. This class takes that question seriously, exploring how God speaks, how He leads, and how to identify and step into the calling He has placed on your life. You will leave with more than a concept; you will leave with a framework for actually experiencing God in your everyday life.
CHRISTIANITY, CULTURE, & POLITICS
Faith doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and Christians today are navigating a culture that raises real and difficult questions. This class offers a thoughtful, biblically grounded look at how followers of Jesus engage the intersections of faith, culture, and political life. You will leave with clarity, conviction, and the confidence to hold your faith in a complicated world.
THE GOSPEL OF JOHN
The Gospel of John is unlike any other book in the Bible, written so that you might believe. This class moves through John carefully, paying attention to what Jesus said, who He claimed to be, and what that means for us today. If you have never done a deep study of one of the Gospels, John is the place to start.
HOW TO READ THE BIBLE
The Bible is the most important book you will ever read, and many Christians have never been taught how to read it well. This class gives you practical tools for understanding, interpreting, and applying Scripture so you can open your Bible with confidence rather than confusion. It is one of the most life-changing skills a follower of Jesus can develop.
LEVEL 2: FRAMEWORKS
For those ready to dive deeper and challenge themselves while building on your foundations. Things are getting serious.
CHURCH HISTORY
The story of the Christian church is one of the most remarkable stories ever told, and most believers have never heard it. This class traces the sweeping journey of Christianity from its earliest days to the present, showing how God has moved through history and shaped the faith we hold today. Understanding where we came from changes how we see where we are going.
HERMENUETICS
Hermeneutics is the study of interpreting the Bible faithfully, discovering what God intended through the human authors, and applying those truths accurately today. Building on the biblical knowledge you already have, this class will equip you with practical tools to understand Scripture in its proper context, interpret it with confidence, and faithfully apply God’s Word to your life.
NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY
The New Testament is 27 books written across decades, to different audiences, for different reasons. New Testament Survey gives you the context to understand each one, not just read it. You’ll walk through the entire New Testament and come away with a clearer picture of how it all fits together and what it means for your life.
